  • On reading this and other forums I`ve definitely come out in the Moyes in camp now. The biggest thing for me is after six months both he and his team will have settled, they will have sussed out where we are weak and need to strengthen, and they will have built a relationship with the players. With this in mind, and with suitable financial backing, I believe that Moyes and his boys will have it sorted come end of summer. To start again now, whoever the board have in mind, will be a backward step.

Interesting (thanks for the stats Luke) that most of our defeats are away (7). Of the 3 at home, one was against City one was the Burnley game (which I think should be ignored) and the other was v. Newcastle. I still don't know how they beat us so badly.

Quite a good set of stats, imo. For clubs like ours, you need your home games to be your bread and butter points.
  • Those draws ;nonono

    6 at home.
2 away at top 6 teams.
1 away at Bournemouth after we went 2-1 down and that flippin' ref overruled the lino to allow the Callum Wilson goal ;angry
  • Moyes 'unlikely to stay' according to sky sports reports.

I have to say, I'd rather he stayed for the reasons already pointed out in the eyes of consistancey.
We now have to go through the process of more unrest and instability. I hope the owners have their man lined up already!
  • Sky saying up to 40 managers are interested in the job. ;hmm
  • Been thinking about it all day.

But yeah, Sully will find a way of making things so much more difficult than they need to be, I'm sure
  • Don’t get it with Moyes unless it’s the board, can’t see him goingto a top six side so surely with his self proclaimed ability he could with little investment but a bit of tinkering push us on further, we have been poor this season but only two off of top ten nine off of eighth so I believe it must be the owners
  • I'm more and more Moyes in, mainly because it seems we don't have anybody else lined up, and I fear we are going to be destabilising the club yet again.

And not for any really compelling reason (i.e. a star manager is lined up and ready to take the job). Moyes has done a good job in difficult circumstances.

  • Tuchel has gone to PSG so at least we don't have to wait for him to turn us down

Would that be Jim 'Sullivan's Pet' White making that statement by any chance?
  • I wonder if Emery is being looked at again.

We might also have a chance with Benitez if we can categorically offer him more transfer funds than Newcastle.
  • I suspect he is, but again, we'd be wasting our time.

Emery is better than us and he'll have much more attractive options, IMO.

Rafa, Pellegrini or Jokanovic are about the only ones I can see us having a chance with, but we need to get it sorted ASAP, whatever we decide to do.
  • I’m off to check Pellegrini’s odds ;wink

Reporting what we suspect. Looking at other options before deciding about Moyes. Should hear in a fortnight.
  • I’d wait to see if Fulham don’t make the play off final tonigh slaven him and cairney according to my mate who was talking to Elvis down the fish and chip shop earlier
  • Given that Moyes was given until the end of the season to save us from relegation I would guess he's already technically gone and at the moment we are manager less. That would mean that the Daves are in charge of everything and I can't see anything happening regarding signings until a new manager is in place. When that does happen, if it is someone new then he will want his own backroom staff and the whole saga we went through in October we'd have to go through again.
As regards new players how can a manager bring in a replacement for a player he's never worked with and if a foreigner probably never seen play.
I can see it all going pear shaped and Sullivan saying we tried for A, B, C ....Z and finally got our man but unfortunately there was no time for new signings but January will be our time.

    Fortnight ;lol
  • So the earlier reported 7 to 10 days has slipped already. ;lol
  • So we have no manager and probably won't for at least two weeks.

    Just terrific.
  • You would hope they are in talks, even if informal with one or two suitable candidates if looking to replace Moyes and the end of the season will now allow a formality to enter these talks.

As already mentioned I can understand a decision to give Moyes a season long contract and also to go for someone else if the right man is available, but either way it must happen soon and whoever comes must be backed in the transfer market.

In my view we have a mid table squad that was underachieving but eventually got their act together and pulled themselves out of a relegation fight, but we are about 3 or 4 decent first team players away from looking upwards next season as we have a good core.

    ;ok
  • KUMB reporting that we've had discussions with another candidate today as well as Moyes ;hmm
  • Not sure exactly why, but I really, really wouldn’t want Ranieri.

I can't see Benitez giving up Newcastle to come to us.
  • Me neither Jorderz.
  • Mike Ashley seems like a dream to work for compare to our lot

How? He’s as outspoken and farcical as our owners (if not more so) but spends less money.
