  • My thorts are now if he stays or goes I wouldn’t be bothered either way
  • Who are we going to get who is any better? Be real.
  • I'm not sure what comments he's made that imply he's got a too high opinion of himself. He said he should be managing a side which is pushing for top 6 or 8 but to me that didn't suggest he didn't think it could be with us.
I think if he goes and the decision is his it will be because he knows or suspects that the club won't give him what he says we need to improve sufficiently both in terms of how its organised and performance wise. If it's because the club decides not to give him a contract then the reasons are basically the same but because the Daves are unwilling or unable to give him what he says we need.
I saw The Debate last night and the chart above with a £7M net spend this season suggests we did extremely well to survive this season at all.
  • Well he definitely said West Ham have got a good manager. Right at the start. This coming off the back of the relative Man U failure and the aberrations in Spain and at Sunderland. So I certainly agree with Chicago that he has a high opinion of himself. I’d go as far as to say he probably thinks he is better than West Ham and that he possibly believes the club need to put forward a strong enough case to keep him. Yet he sits below Brighton, Watford, etc in the league.
  • But with only half a season in charge.

If he stays, let's judge him on what he has achieved in that year, which includes his transfer dealings.

If we push on and make progress then great. I'm not sure about Mr Moyes yet, but if he is good for OUR club then keep him long term, love him or hate him.
  • Sunderland were and are a complete basket case and Sociedad have more managers per season than we have defeats.
  • He has had considerably more than half a season and is also far from new to the Prem. He has fallen short of both Hodgson and allardyce (similar experienced Prem managers brought in as saviours). So to me he hasn’t really justified himself for a longer stint. And as for the transfers, if the three we signed were his choices, then I wouldn’t trust that part either

Not sure where they got that figure from, might well be generous as Transfermarkt.com has a negative net spend of £11m

  • That transfermarkt summary is interesting. According to their figures, we bought in £88m worth of talent for £51m, and sold £105m worth for £62m
  • I'm pretty sure Moyes said he 'wants to' be managing a team that can challenge for the top 8/6, rather than he 'should'.

Personally, I like what he has said. He's not desperate for our job, but would take it if he felt the club could match his ambition/put the right structures in place.

Since lots of people on here think we should be doing better than we have been in recent years (Payet season apart) presumably they would agree he has a point.
  • Not really, the club have little ambition for top 6 or 8 (could have had Dendoncker signed Hugill and Evra).

Which is all fine by me though, as I don't think Moyes is the right man for the job.
  • Very confused, was all for Moyes from the outset, think he has done well, but the longer he has been in the job the less I`ve warmed to him. I do think he could do a job, but I find him sooooooooooooooo boring. Not sure I`m bothered either way now. On a different note, anything less than £25 million and I would definitely go for Mario, doesn`t seem everyones cup of tea, but I like him.
  • Linked with Benitez and Pellegrini again today

No Dyche? I thought those three came as a set!
  • Madcap ;ok

I like Mario, but not at £25m+
  • Ex reckons we'll get on him another loan next season and re-negotiate the option to buy. He's decent, but only £15m decent, IMO
  • His final impact isnt enough

But hes tidy on the ball and energetic

Id be happy for another loan but no chance for £25mil
  • Mario is probably the best 'footballer' in the squad. I'd certainly keep him if we can get him on a loan deal and buy him if we can afford it.
  • The best footballer? Not sure about that. He seems to do a few things 'okay' but otherwise is impact is minimal and his final execution is often lacking.
  • Well he scored the first goal at home to Southampton and away to Leicester and has a few assists more than Ayew has done since he has been back at Swanswa

Not quite right, as we only loaned Jaoa Mario and Hart who have values of £23.4m and £11.7m respectively. However, not quite sure I trust their market value figures, as they have Arnie at only £13.5m and Zaba at £6.3m.

Marca reporting that agreement reached with Manuel Pellegrini to become our new manager.
  • Lukerz forgive my thickness is that the ex Man City manager ?
  • Cuz - yes mate. ;ok
  • That seems really unlikely. Wonder if anybody else will pick it up.
  • Thanks mate, I’d be happy with the style of play if we had him I believe he’d be a step up in that sence let’s hope he’d get a decent budget too
  • Noble has been quoted as saying:

"There is a lot of stuff in the summer, from top to bottom, which needs to change and I mean that because I don’t want to go through another season like this. We need to spend money in the summer. We have a good core of players but we need another 3-4 more good ones."

Is that the sound of a gauntlet being thrown down to the chairmen? ;hmm

Interesting, I do think that the basic value of our squad is far higher than Newcastle however..

Since David Moyes succeeded Slaven Bilic, West Ham have earned five PL points more than Rafa Benitez's Newcastle Utd.

  • Ok Arnie come on mate.....

Arnautovic on Moyes: "He told me if you don't work hard, you won't play and it made it click in my head so if you see my stats you will see I run a lot. Yes, of course I would like him to stay. He has done a great job but it is not my decision."
  • Pellegrini.... no thanks.....
