ASLEF, Too many players hide behind the "I don't understand why it's sacrilege" to join any club that is held in contempt by their current club. This is not a "Johnny Foreigner" comment before anyone has a go at me but could you have seen Julian Dicks join that mob in North London that is why it would have been karma if they had got relegated after the way Kudus bad mouthed us. Just my opinion of course.
I don't particularly care where any of our players go, but I do think it would be a bit disrespectful for Fernandes to go to Spurs
Why?
He’s from Portugal, he’s been in England two years, one at Southampton, one at West Ham.
He’s not West Ham born and bred
I don’t recall saying that he was West Ham born and bred. I also can Wikipedia where someone is from. If you can’t figure out why I, or anyone else, may feel it’s a bit disrespectful then I can’t help you.
Sadly today IMO money talks, but if I wanted to achieve things, it would be Man U over Spurs, but let's see...
It's a pity some of these players( not one in particular ) don't turn around and say, let me honour the club who gave me the chance and stay with them to get them back up, but at the same time, money talks both ways I guess, and I understand the club needs some income from sales....
At the end of the day it depends on the opportunities that present, for me I would be very surprised if he chose Spurs over Man U or another established top half challenging team.
He is young and if there are no reasonable offers, I would expect him to stay with us and try and showcase himself, if the only good option he has is an offer from Spurs and they have backed up the truck….I could not blame him for taking it.
I think the comparison with Jules is not a fair comparison as there is simply not a truck big enough.
I still maintain Daniel Levy stitched us up over the fee for Kudus so unless they or anyone else pay big for Fernandes then he can’t leave although I know he will 😞.
Fernandes "showcased" himself over two seasons in the Premier League and earned himself a full cap on the basis of his performance so he's not going to get much out of a season in the Championship that will help him at this stage
He might as well have stayed at Sporting, Portugal's top flight is probably about the same level as the Championship but at least he would have got Champions League football
Like Kudus he was only with us for a short time so I don't see why he should feel any obligation about not signing for Spurs.
Scott Parker, Carrick, Defoe, Paul Allen and Martin Peters all went to Spurs after far longer with us, some of them while we were in the top flight so Fernandes leaving doesn't seem to bad if we get a decent fee
Did Peters go on strike in October 1969 or did Greenwood drop him after he made his (5th) transfer request public? He played pretty much every game from 25 October 1969 until 14 March 1970 and joined Spurs the following Friday
I've got "The Ghost of 66" at home but never got around to reading it
Good news
Football Insider says Gary O'Neil wants Max Kilman on loan at Ipswich. GO'N made Kilman captain when he was at Wolves
Ex reporting that we've given up on Steve Nickson who's joining Wrexham and are now looking at FC Copenhagen's Nils Koppen (ex-Rangers) as the clubs new Director of Football
Peters went on strike initially to force a move to Spurs.
According to Peters he was dropped for four matches (W1 D2 L1) which led to loads of press speculation that he was after a transfer. At the time we were 16th and out of the League Cup
In a meeting Peters told Greenwood he didn't think we could challenge for trophies but Greenwood thought we could so it was agreed to wait to see how we did in the FA Cup (we'd not been past the 5th round since we won in 1964)
We got knocked out in the 3rd round by 2nd Div Middlesbrough and were 17th when he left on deadline day
My take is that Fernandes moving to Spurs would be less disrespectful and more surprising, I am expecting him to have multiple offers to chose from and I doubt that one from Spurs would win the day.
There's definitely something going on at Spurs, they've signed Van Hecke from Brighton for £52m plus Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Dubravka on frees
And its not even July
The other 19 EPL clubs have signed eight players between them although ironically Chelsea haven't signed anyone. Is Todd Boehly in a coma?

Think the back to back 17th place finishes for a team that revenue wise should be part of the top 6 is why
Dont think striking early is a bad thing for them, gets De Zerbi working with them for preseason
Re. Fernandes I dont really care who he goes to whether its Spurs or United, really like him but hes been here a season... as long as we sell to the highest bidder
Also thought for sure we'd get £60mil max, so im delighted he going for £80m/£85m, don't think he's worth it even in this crazy market
Helps us out for him to go to the highest bidder, and thats what I care about
The Athletic say Brentford are in talks with Callum Wilson.
At the moment if Igor Tiago is not available their options are play either Schade or Ouattara out of position or Belgian U19 centre forward Kaye Furo who they want to send out on loan

Makes sense
Makes sense in some respect but also wasnt he unhappy as he wasnt starting for us?
If that was his motivation then it doesn’t make sense
We don’t want too many to go but expect Summerville to go soon. Bowen staying is dependent upon most of our best players staying let’s hope we can keep quite a few. If Diouf and Taty go I can see Bowen saying that’s it I’m off. Can’t believe we’ve actually made a profit, a good one at that, on a player we bought only a year ago.
Not with West Ham. Not with the Czech Republic. And certainly not with an injury. I’m sorry we couldn’t give our fans the moments and results you deserved. That hurts me more than anything.
The good thing about football is that there’s always another challenge waiting. A new season is almost here, bringing a new opportunity to put things right.
For 12 years as a professional, I’ve been lucky enough to avoid a serious injury. Now I have to face a challenge I haven’t faced before. But everyone who knows me knows one thing. I never give up! This injury doesn’t change my mindset. If anything, it makes me even more determined. I’ll use these next few weeks/months to work, recover and come back stronger. As a player, as a teammate and as a person.
Since the season ended, I’ve only had one thing on my mind. West Ham United. This club means so much to me and I’m ready to do everything I can in helping get it back to where it belongs; to the English Premier League. For the immediate future, I’ll support the boys off the pitch whilst I rehabilitate. Then once back, I’ll give everything I have on the pitch, fighting alongside the boys once again. COYI!
As for the international team, I need some time to think about my future. I’m deeply disappointed with how our World Cup campaign ended. I know we are capable of much more in every aspect than we showed, and that’s one of the biggest reasons why this disappointment is so difficult to accept. Representing the Czech Republic has always been the greatest honour of my career. That’s why I don’t want to make any decision in the heat of the moment. I’ll take the time to reflect and decide what’s best for everyone.
One thing is certain.
I’ll be back.
Stronger. Hungrier. More determined than ever.
Thank you for standing by me through everything. Your support means more than words can say. ❤️
Soucek going nowhere at least, but not likely playing either
Hopefully when we get back into the Premier League DK will give similar funds to whoever our manager is in the same way that the Tottenham owners are doing with RDZ.

Expect to sell Summerville & Fernandes.
Is AWB better than KWP, Yes, so it appears his fallout with NES means he departs?
Kilman, Pedro & JWP I expect to leave as well.
Ideally keep Kante & Magassa.
That's for starters plenty of other holes need filling in the squad.
