  • I agree he’s got better and is involved in games but I think clubs will look at how he contributes goals and assists as a winger when they look for signings. They might just see him as someone who had a good patch but didn’t really have a consistent impact. He very well could go but actually don’t think he will be as sought after as Fernandes and Bowen.
  • I had forgot Wayne Bridge ever played for us!

    Played, you say?
  • I think Summerville is another example of Nuno's management success.

Summerville, Fernandes, Todibo and most of all Mavropanos all became much better once Nuno arrived.
  • Difference between a coach and a manager.
  • I am not sure Fernandes will go, he has contract left, is 21 and unlike Bowen and Summerville I doubt he will attract really big offers.

He was 20 when he left Saints and had 4 years left on his contract

If we're asking £84m then we're expecting big offers
  • I would happily sell for 84m but would expect around 40m- 50m and feel he is worth more to us within a promotion push, considering his age we could keep him for a promotion push and he would be likely to lose no value in doing so.. That price may be to put people off.

I don't think we'll get £84m, I think that's just their starting price and they'll haggle down from there. We paid £38m after he'd played just one season in the Premier League so he's probably worth more than £40m after a second season

If he wasn't interested in a promotion push with Saints when he was 20yo and was a Portuguese U21 I doubt he'd be any more interested with us a year later when he's just got his first full cap
  • One big financial factor management have to consider is wages. If they can jettison a high earner for a low fee, will it balance the books?

Kilman? They could give him away.
  • Kilman? They could give him away.

Who would want him on his wages? According to various sources he's our third highest earner after Bowen and Areola
  • Please say that isn’t so…..when every fiber in my body tells me it is….

    Areola!?
  • According to the websites that aggregate approximate salary:
    - Bowen is on £150k a week
    - Areola £120k
    - Kilman £100k
    - Soucek & AWA £90k
    - Disasi & Todibo £80k
    - Fernandes £60k
    - KWP £55k
    - Mavropanos & Pablo £50k
    - Hermansen & Summerville £45k
    - Diouf & Magassa £35k

There is no update on Taty or Traore since joining, but Taty rumoured to be on £77k at Lazio, and the last data on Traore thought he was on £120k. I find it hard to believe that would be the case here though.
  • Taty £75k, Traore £35k according to Spotrac.
  • Apparently Saints have a 15% sell on clause on Fernandes.

Fernandes is not in the Portugal World Cup squad but has been called up for the U21s

La Gazzetta dello Sport reckons Roma want Summerville and we're asking €40m (£35m)

The same article links Roma with Mason Greenwood, Mathys Tel and Club Brugge's Christos Tzolis

  • Soucek on Twitter

He's got one year left on his contract, I got a gut feeling he's going to stay and possibly be our captain next season if Bowen goes
  • I think Bowen wills stay.
  • Soucek is one of a few players ,That when he says something I believe him .Really think he cares about the club ,We need him now more then ever
  • Hopefully Stay
    Bowen & Soucek

    Expect to stay
    Hermansen, KWP & Magassa

    Stay as we cant shift
    Kilman & Pablo

    Academy
Potts, Kante, Orford, Earthy, Scarles & Mayers

    100% leave
    Fernandes
    Summerville
    Taty
    Tobido
    Wilson*
    Traore*
    Alvarez

Expect to leave but prefer they stayed
    Mavropanos, Diouf & AWB.
Fabianski hopefully can get another year as backup

Expect to leave but can see wages being an issue
    Areola & JWP
  • I don’t think it’s just the players who decide. If an acceptable offer comes in for any of our players the club are likely to sell imo.
  • If Bowen was to go this is the perfect time for him, at his peak, one last major contract before his career starts tailing off. If he stays, I think he is probably giving up his England career and is probably never leaving WHU at that point.

Hes 31 next time the tournament comes, his England career has been and gone

Also at 29 the teams competing for titles will think hes too old

Think he is more likely to go for a Villa or Newcaslte than a City or Arsenal unless he wants to be backup
  • I think Kante would be excellent in the Championship

  • If Bowen stays he is in the Noble category for me, another Mr West Ham.

Everything says he should go, so if he stays it's for nothing but love.
