  • I'm leaving any TFs til late as I have FIVE of my squad as injury doubts or suspended. Three out of five defenders! (the other two vs Everton away and Man Utd!) Have to see who they rate to be fit rather than my normal focus on who's going to drop in price or rise

Saw how many TF outs there were for Digne so I panicked and decided to get rid (and needed to make another TF to accommodate. Then decided a few minutes ago I'd make another TF!) I've been due a TF spree for a while. Just cant help myself. It'll either pay off or they'll be more Bazshuayi ;weep at the end of the GW
  • Triple Captained Salah. I think its going to be a very rough Monday evening and I don't think Liverpool will slip up again after the Leicester fright
  • I can't profit from a West Ham defeat.
  • I moved off Salah last week despite him doing really well for me as captain (luckily Aubameyang stepped up). I cant in all honesty feel good about reverting to him against us. I dont feel I can be urging on a player to score and assist against us. So i'll be captaining someone else too

TFd in Batshuayi for Arnie in my cheap team. I couldve kept it a secret but it was such an injustice that Bats isnt at West Ham that it had to be done and shouted from the terraces! I'm tempted to make him captain too (I feel a little self-destructive apparently) ;lol ;wahoo

  • Dodged a bullet - was considering taking a points hit to get Llorente. But he doen't start for Spurs today ;phew
  • Is that the same Llorente that had an assist ;hmm

    ;weep

Although, it would have cost me 4 points to get him in.
  • Not to be confused with the Moura who got taken off at 59 minutes.

    ;doh

I mean, Poch couldn't have just waited one more flippin' minute?! ;angry

I agree. These managers must realize the consequences of their prior to 60 minute substitutions. They just dont care about the ordinary person in the streets fantasy scores! ;angry

Why not bring in Llorente anyway? Whats 4 points when you're 20th? I think thats where you were when I last looked. If I was 20th, I'd take stock of the points difference between me and first place and I'd make as many damn TFs per week as I liked (as in my 'draft' tactics lol) and not stress about it.

Seriously though, I think the only real chance to catch up is not to be frugal but to be brave with the TFs and specifically target differentials you fancy may do well and give you a chance to draw closer.

I doubt you'll do it but I'd use my wildcard (after surveying the next few weeks) and pick out players I think will do well who arent owned well (allied to some who are owned by a high percentage of people you feel you cannot leave out). I understnd the tactics of using for late in the season for a double GW, but if you are a distance behind then it seems a bit pointless. So I would personally try earlier ( a couple of seasons ago I went from way outside the top 10, maybe between 15th and 20th, and had a storming last 3rd of the season to finish a comfortable second. So it can work if you have that luck and judgment to pick the right differentials and to be brave enough to be ruthless altering your team on a frequent basis until you feel you're back in the hunt and maybe look for a more stable solution).

If you can close the gap over a few weeks then you still have the chance of a god end of the season to finish in a respectable placing.

Please know this isnt knocking anyone or intentionally insulting either. It's just, in my mind, the only way I could envisage trying to cut a big gap in a small amount of time

For me... At the top I have a pretty precarious lead but last week it was something like 6 points! I was treading water, too afraid to make big changes. I then realized that stunting my thoughts wasnt going to help (I had to think about how and why I got there). So last week and this I've decided to be the more cavalier me and at the end of the day you either justify those TFs and get the luck you need or you dont...
  • And I just made another 3 TFs this week (which is actually premature because I should've waited for the games to finish tomorrow just in case there were injuries to my team. I took a chance though as the three players I wanted may have risen in price or someone like Richarlison may have falled and stopped me)

I then realized that making 3 last week and 3 this week may not be conducive to me staying in the cup! ;doh That';ll depend I think on Agueros double GW, If I get through then, as per the last posting, I'll have to see if my new 3 TFs do what I hope and bring me the luck to progress

On the evidence of this season, I don't!

  • btw, David Luiz????????

;bowdown (to baz, not Sideshow Bob)
  • He was one of the defenders I was thinking of bringing in (he and Laporte were just a little too much) but I decided to get rid of Brooks as I suspected he'd be out for a while and Jota plus a cheap defender was my decision. Luis has been scoring and assisting recently but I knew it'd only be a case of points vs Huddersfield then City and a blank GW (and I didnt want to TF in then straight out when Jota was in form - someone who I subbed but was going to be cover for Pogba if he missed his game). On the cheap team front, I thought Luis was a good chance of a clean sheet plus hope ( combined with not fancying anyone in the squad for the round) ;thumbsup

All the more reason to try and hope for a change of luck for the last chunk of the season
  • Straight choice between Aguero and Aubameyang in my Fantasy Football transfers. Guess which one I chose...
  • I had the armband on Aguerro all week. Guess what I did 20 mins before the deadline?

I don't think the problem is with luck, I think it's with judgement!

I could make all sorts of changes - they'll probably still be rubbish ;doh
  • We all need luck in the game. Having the judgement, knowledge and anticipation is all good but as we all know, players/teams tend to frequently not do what we expect them to do ;puzzled
  • Add to that, managers!

    pep

(Although this didn't affect me today.)
  • Told you to not have DeBruyne weeks ago til he got fit ;run

I had Salah as captain til Friday night then decided a third TF was in order as I wanted a 2 game GW player as captain. With Aubameyang away at City I figured he wouldnt get many chances so I straight swapped for Aguero (who usually doesnt do well for me when I bring him in but I got lucky today)

#has this turned into the Fantasy football thread?

That was brave of them. Pep tends to bring him off early in games (around 70 min mark) and leave Sterling on (out of the wingers). Its easy to be smart after the event but Sane was due a rest. He rested Bernardo last game. What price Sterling sitting out vs Everton? (or Aguero for Jesus next game ;weep )
  • Which is why I rarely captain Aguero anymore but really wish I had this week ;weep
  • ;hug ;weep I feel your pain.

This is not the thread you're looking for.

  • My friend Triple Captained Sane this week lol :>
  • Don't lol yet - he could score a brace on Wednesday. ;sofa
  • I triple captained Sterling in a high risk attempt to out gun the crowd that would go for Aguero. ;doh
