FA publish the standard fines/penalties in the handbook. It's not a secret.
    sanction

There is a separate (tougher) set of sanctions if the charge is initially denied, and subsequently found to be proven.

  • No previous.
  • So they were fined for aggressive behaviour but they didn't use insulting language?

Miraculously so given the shocking officiating in the last third of last season!
  • Munich ;ok

That's how I interpret it... presumably based on what the referee put in his report.

If you've got two blokes swearing in Serbo-Croat how's the ref going to tell if it's foul and abusive or not?

ASLEF, didn't you know that with all the foreign players in the PL, all refs, linesmen etc have been issued with instantaneous translators.
I think they were surplus Startrek stock. ;yercoat
  • And all that. ;wahoo
  • Love you slaven ;ok feels the passion
  • Sky reporting he's close to signing a new deal.

    Brilliant news ;pray
  • Yep, great news.

Probably will not get the deal signed until the club are mathematically safe I reckon or reaches 38 points.
  • I am a little concerned with the tone of David Sullivan's comments on the Bournemouth game. Slav is our man and he needs backing.

  • I see very little wrong in what sully has said personally

In fact I think he is spot on
  • Same old Sully. Gives a match report and, as always, tries to sell you something
  • Lacks a little class amongst other things.
  • ;lol

He may be a chav, but he's our chav.

  • EXETER,

Slav is probably thinking ok back me with the funds to make us more competitive.
  • Barrow boy to the end is Sully.

In my view our shortcomings this year have all been down to our business in the transfer market so I would feel sure Sully would have played a part in that as well as Slav.

I say this because when looking at the team and ask the questions about Slav that need asking I am mostly positive about him.

Is he getting the best from the players he has? yes
Does the team play with good attitude and team spirit? yes
Does he set them up in a way in which they could win the game? yes
Does he re-act with substitutions and tactical changes within the match? sometimes, sometimes not.
Does he have the players he needs to field a complete team? No
two strikers (one main and one supporting) and a right back missing.

So lacking in belief with regard his two fit strikers after AC that he would rather play others out of position....... terrible business been done.

Is Slav our man ? definitely, Sully?
  • Fortune

He's had £115m - he's not had to do it on the cheap.

Im guessing you're getting that figure from a website, may i ask which one G?

Have had a little look around the web myself...

Palace have spent 80 million this season... They are 17th...

Watford, 90 million in 2 seasons...

    We are above both teams.

We've moved into a stadium with 52k season ticket holders. Yet our spending is similar to these sides?

I disagree that they have backed Bilic with funds. Especially a side who finished 7th last season, he should have been rewarded with proper money.

But hey, looks like another subject we'll never agree on
    ;whistle ;wink
  • When you're nearly 100m on the hole, you have to cut your cloth accordingly

And cut it we most certainly have

35,000 and £40m worth of it

I posted the link yesterday, as you asked:

We spent £70m this year and £45m last year.

We are currently 13 points worse off than this time last season.

WBA spent around £32m this season compared to our £70m, £37m the year before.

They finished 14th last year, 19 points behind us. 4 points better off than last year.

Everton about the same as us this season, and last (give or take a couple of million.)

11th, 15 points behind us. They are 9 points better off than last year.

Stoke spent £33m this season, £45m the season before.

9th, 11 points behind us. 6 points worse off than last year.

We have spent as much or more than any of those teams, who are all above us this season.

Your argument that Slav has not had the funds to push on doesn't work.

He has had as much or more than those three teams, and we are doing worse than them.

At the very least, we have matched them in terms of spending, so why not in terms of results?

Are you arguing that none of those managers were backed with proper funds either?

I can think of lots of reasons why we aren't doing as well as last season, but lack of funds isn't one of them.

Just to clarify for those who may be coming late to this: I'm not trying to use this as a stick to beat Slav with, and I'm not trying to suggest that he should be sacked, or has failed.

It's simply to reject Twist's claim that Slav has not been backed with 'proper funds'.

  • Is he getting the best from the players he has? yes

    ;hmm

    Really?

    I'd have to disagree here

There is a danger that the reasons for our travails are all being laid at the door of our owners
  • Part of the reason we have not got as many points this season is Chelsea/Man U have had much better seasons and generally the tops clubs have returned to better form compared to last year. The squad is unbalanced we can all see the problem positions right back and upfront. This summer it needs addressing and if they don't sort it I think questions will be asked of Slav and the board. For the rest of the season it feels like it is fizzling out with a whimper and we need to be careful we don't get dragged down near the bottom. Leicester will be a big test of how we will finish the season.
