I altered a couple of things ( and probably will do again when someone gets injured before season starts ) but I've joined the whu606 league and also the head to head one....'Fer_Coates' inspired by coat talk!
I still have a great MF but back line looks stronger/ more depth to it. Sticking with same strikers, although a little concerned about Bentekes game time so far ( nice goal today though ;whistle )
I agree and with Rose also at 5.5, who scores and assists on the other side, I'd pick him if I had to choose a Spurs defender. Man Utd away first game means I'm happy to wait n see...
Its pretty understandable to have doubts/changes of mind as there are always lots of unanswered questions pre-season. I didnt start from scratch recently after having thoughts on players I wanted, as opposed to those I could accommodate. I decided to pick a core of players that I wanted the most ( ignoring Sanchez and Aguero knowing I would bring one of them in depending on who started well for me and who didnt ).
So I relisted and prioritized ( e.g. my belief of players value allied to ability to both score and assist, not just one + potential + lower priced players to fit in with core) and it made things clearer to decide on the initial line up....
1st choice(s) - Hazard/Sterling/Depay 2nd choice(s) - Walcott/Ritchie/Firmino/Sanchez/Payet 3rd choice(s) - Mane/Tadic/Wijnaldum/Ayew/Odemwingie/Aarons/Ibe/Anya (last 4 to potentially accommodate Aguero/Sanchez after start of season)
Defence:
1st choice(s) - Bellerin/Darmian/Cedric 2nd choice(s) - Schlupp/Coleman/Clyne/Rose/Kolarov/Skrtel/Ivanovic 3rd choice(s)/cheapest value - Morgan/Francis/Mings/Simpson/Gomez (who might start at LB for Liverpool after preseason)
So my core turned out to be:
Schmiechel
Darmian/Cedric/Bellerin
Hazard/Sterling/Depay
Benteke
I decided to go with fitting two MF from my second choices which were the cheapest two but IMO had goals/assists potential to rank with higher cost players. Payet is class and Ritchie got a lot of goals and assists last yea, so 6M is value
Rooney as central striker is keeping Agueros place warm (unless he starts well then I will have to make a big decision about him and benteke or a high price MFer) Deeneys a 20 goal a season man for the last 3 years and assists so I have to put him in at 5.5 to accommodate a stronger MF and DF
I wanted to put Schlupp in for his goals and he'll play in MF but Southampton have good early fixtures too and Cedric Soares seem to be a pacey assister - What decided it for me is that Simpson is the only 4.0 player I have enough trust in to both play and not be in too leaky a team. So I didnt want three Leicester player ( inc GK ) at the back. Francis get in because hes an attacking back with numerous assists last year (and Morgan isnt fit at 4.5 ). I'll be checking Gomez though
Cresswell, Sakho and Payet. The thing is West Ham players come in relatively cheap and I have an idea about what form they're in.
I tinkered because looks like Aguero isn't fit, which gave more budget.
Question is Benteke or Bony? I guess Bony will fail in for Aguero, and I feel he'll get better service than Benteke because I don't know what to expect from Liverpool.
I didnt pick Bony as I still dont trust him after a slow start. However, he was prolific before the transfer to City and its a fresh slate at the start of season ( silva and stirling etc should supply him and Aguero when hes back ). So dont blame you for choosing him at all.
I picked Benteke because he'll be main man at Liverpool ( and Clyne, Ibe, Henderson, Milner, Coutinho, Firmino etc will create more than Villa did for him + he already has a good strike record )
I believe Bertrand and Morgan arent going to be fit for season start, especially Bertrand ( and I think Baker is rumoured to be going on loan to Championship ) so you may only have 2 fit defenders outcast
Baz, I'm going to switch Bertrand out if he's not fit. Just don't want to tinker too much. I only use 3 in defence and I have £2.5m to play with. Waiting until I know more about who's fit and where they're playing.

Luke, good team name ;thumbsup ;biggrin
I think I'm going to avoid him this season ;hmm
I'm sure it won't be the last ;doh
