    I've done many things since I gave up accountancy, but this is just helping a friend out.

    And over a 3-year rolling period it's less: £34.3m over the whole 3 years.

    Interesting point MrsG. Makes all the anger towards Amanda Staveley and her plans slightly misplaced as they are blaming that on DK not investing the money he said he would put into transfers on him holding money back to fend off any moves by AS's consortium.

    As I understand it, up until the 30th June we would have been an EPL club under different rules, where the amount he could have invested / injected was far higher, hence the £100m figure that was quoted.

    His cash injection, as a loan, was dependant on the sale of the shares from VG to DK.

    However, Stavely throwing a rather large spanner in the works caused VG to renege on her deal with DK, so no loan was made.

    Without the loan we then have to spend the income from sales to service the debts rather than the loan from DK.

    I'd not be at all surprised if this didn't have shortys little fingerprints on it somewhere as he and Stavely have previous dealings together.

    Staveley bids higher for VG shares then his shares are worth more than the DK offer.

    I really do think that he would throw some spanners in just out of spite, but also knowing that his shares will increase in value on promotion. Quite happy to let others do the work for his reward.

    I don't think he'll ever get HIS valuation of the shares and quite frankly his offspring will probably sell at the first opportunity once he's popped his little clogs.

    I don't know but he is referred to on the os as Surinese (if that is what people from Suriname call themselves). He does look more Dutch than South American.

    Piroe was born in the Netherlands to an Indo-Surinamese muslim father and a Dutch mother. (taken from Wikipedia)

    Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands so a lot of the best Dutch players you can think of have Surinamese roots.

    Probably one of the greatest examples of a country that could‘ve been a football superpower if everyone who’d been born there or had parents from there had chosen to play for them!

    An update: briefly, I'm located an hour out of Kuching and have unreliable internet connection (and electricity) so can only see highlights after the matches. It means I'm usually way behind the comments etc. When I retired here in 2011, West Ham were also in the Champo, and I leaned heavily on this site, and shall do again this year. It has never let me down yet! Incidentally, the Kuching area is suffering the worst air conditions in the world, due to Indonesians burning bamboo and other stuff, and the wind blowing it all at us! This doesn't help reception at all.
    Oh and in 2006, Mrs G, I was in my 34th year of work. I did O levels etc, me.
