    There was a report that said Pablo's agents were looking for opportunities to find a new club now we are relegated, the club stated they would not stand in his way if they could recoup the majority of what we paid.... so that's him still here in three years time then.

    I thought playing in the Championship is a new challenge? Is a loan deal one that means he can return to play for us if we get promoted as I understand Koln haven't got the money to buy him outright?

    I don't think Alvarez would have gone on a season long loan if he thought he has a future at West Ham

    Roshane Thomas (Athletic/NYT) says were asking £35m for Wan-Bissaka while TeamTalk says Arsenal are interested in AWB replacing Ben White.

    TeamTalk have also linked us with Jason McAtee who Nuno signed while at Forest but only got 13 starts out of 26 appearances with only two starts in the Premier League

    ASLEF, I reckon that is looking at the Alvarez situation as if he really had a choice. Look who was in charge when he went out on loan and he wasn't the only experienced player who was jettisoned at the time.

    The Championship will suit Alvarez down to a tee, combative and no VAR. I would keep him unless a decent offer to buy came in as i feel we could need his type of player.

    Despite the fact that the Championship is a better standard of football than the top league in many countries, a lot of players, and I'd include Alvarez amongst them, just won't wanna play there.

    £35mil for Bissaka would be unreal..... I would've said we have no chance but thought we had no chance of getting £80mil for Fernandes let alone £85m

    With Walker-Peters its the most obvious sale imo, AWB is both a sellable asset and one od our highest earners

    100% on board for McAtee, when he was in the championship he ripped it up and he was only 19/20 years old. Had a rough go at Forrest but thats why he'd be relatively cheaper and within our range, also probably keen to drop down a division given we are still a big enough club

    Ex and Sky Germany reporting FC Koln have "provisionally agreed" a loan with option to buy for Alvarez although still have to negotiate personal terms

    Besiktas and Fenerbahce also interested

    Tim Steidten is a director at Koln, negotiated Alvarez's transfer to West Ham

    This is what depresses me so much about relegation, we have to get replacements for players who we'd love to keep.

    But we're probably gonna lose more players with the relegation, and will be far less able to bring in any halfway decent replacements than if we were still in the PL.

    Fullkrug, JCT, AWB, Cornet, Alvarez, Areola and JWP are the eight we are reported to be happy to leave plus Fernandes (left) and Summerville (awaiting departure). How many of the 8 would have been regulars for us this season?

    Indeed, but Fernandes has gone and the post that prompted my original comment was about a replacement for Summerville.
