Who says Sullivan has any involvement in signing Callum Wilson or any other player?
Potter has brought in his own people and pushed Steidten out the door, he seems to be very much in charge of things so I doubt if he's going to agree to signing a player he doesn't want
If Potter thinks Wilson is good enough then I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt
However I am making space behind the sofa for when I see him warming up on the touchline
This is all speculative, but it has - since the Tim Steidten appointment - looked like there are two separate transfer strategies running alongside one another. I'd be surprised if Potter didn't have a good amount of control, but I'd be more surprised if Sullivan had given away all control.
That said, I think that there's a good chance a lot of the rumours that come out are nonsense and spun up by people who know what West Ham "are like", and think that it works as a story. There's a good chance we don't sign Wilson, and there's also a good chance we were never actually intending to.
Wilson agrees personal terms with Hammers Callum Wilson has agreed personal terms with West Ham after leaving Newcastle, reports TalkSport. The Hammers' first-team are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour on Wednesday and face Manchester United on Sunday as part of the Premier League Summer Series, which is live on Sky Sports.
Have people not heard the stories about Mr Sullivan & his preferred agents? Wilson is one of Will Salthouse’s players thus any deal for him has a Sully signing for the manager written all over it. He did the same for previous managers allegedly.

I'm sure most if not all of us are aware of how Sullivan operates, it's just such a laughably amateurish way to go about things.
EXETER, You missed out the word “very” before bad. He has previous for bad mouthing the club on several occasions apart from all the reasons not to sign him you quoted. The old West Ham is still in the shadows.
The rumours are that its performance related pay. 🤷♂️
If true, it’s sort of, fine? I think? Allegedly Potter said he doesn’t need a striker. If the board decide ok we won’t spend on one but here’s Antonio’s replacement on tiny wages, that’s ok? Probably?
Surely the fact Antonio is playing for the U21s (& scored twice) means there is a good chance he is going to remain at the club this season. You can keep him fit & let him use the club but you don’t start him for the academy ahead of another youngster if he is leaving.

Aren't a few of the U21s away with the first team atm, it could just be that they're short on numbers.
Wilson has the second coming of Ings written all over it but if what people are saying and it's performance related then the big difference is it doesn't have the 100k per week price tag.
Even if it's performance related its a horrible deal, its a waste of a spot and does absolutely nothing for us
The reason Newcastle are letting him go is because his legs last year completely went which isn’t surprising given hes 33 with a career of relentless injuries (he had 2 big separate injuries last year) and lets not forget how he talked about us on that stupid podcast of his

And the fact that he punched the ball into the net against us.

Maybe he'll join Zouma at Al-Injuryprone

High wages/injury prone/end of career/will play 10 mins a game/
I honestly thought we had moved on from this.
What are we playing at?

Promoting Callum Marshall would be a better move
So much for getting the average age of the squad down😂
