World Cup Last 16 and onwards (excluding England matches)

MrsGrey

You can. VAR is limited. Goals, pens, red cards and mistaken identity. If a player pretends he got whacked, in the middle of the park, unless it's a red the decision is in the hands of the on field ref.

MrsGrey

Btw, this game is lively ;wahoo

MrsGrey

Yes. That sort of thing ;ok

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but changing the subject slightly, I only watched patches of Morocco’s last game and kept hearing Manuela Da Costa mentioned. I thought it rather coincidental that he had the same name as the Portuguese centre back who used to play for us - until I googled it and found out he is one and the same having chosen to switch countries before he actually ever played for the full Portuguese side!

France v Argentina, one of those games where I want both to lose. I feel dirty, but I'm supporting France for this one.

buffybegood

France 1-0, penalty.

chicagohammer

That was a really impressive explosive run that led to that penalty ;clap

MIAHammer

Mbappe must have had his wheeties this morning.
What acceleration there!

Bazshuayi

Frightening!

#Kylian it

grey_til_I_dye

Mbappe showed incredible acceleration, but Rojo's challenge was brain-dead. I don't think Mbappe would have got to the ball.

PrestonHammer

The French players get fouled, they get up. The Argentinian players get fouled, it's Oscars season.

buffybegood

Damn, 1-1

IronHerb

De Marias first contribution to the World Cup, and not a bad one at that. ;clap

MIAHammer

French defence were already thinking about their half times oranges and were asleep.

jay_in_cpt

Want Argentinia to win, just....
Decent 1st half , could go either way & a red card looming?.....
Well enjoyable for me. ;ok

Bazshuayi

cat among the pigeons time

buffybegood

Double damn, 2-1 Argentina

buffybegood

Dirty from Banega there

MIAHammer

If Argentina get through, how many players will be suspended?

IronHerb

Don't matter. There won't be any French players there.

buffybegood

2-2

MrsGrey

What larks.

Bazshuayi

at least 2 more goals?

CleverTrevor

3-2 what larks indeed young Pip.

buffybegood

3-2 France, great game

IronHerb

This could be a classic.....

PrestonHammer

Is that the Argentinian Joe Hart in goal?
