I've said it since day 1, Adrian is better than Hart and I'm glad others are starting to realise this. It's not even a case of "both make lots of mistakes but Hart just nudges it" - it's not that at all... in fact Adrian is better by a country mile. I'm confident that we would have 3-5 more points to our name so far if we had him in goal this season.
But I'm expecting Hart to appear back in goal next game (annoyingly).
We’re gonna go down but at least that was a reasonable level of performance.
That performance gives me hope a team admitted that were under the cosh but heads didn’t drop, city will win the league by a country mile and to defend and compete with them and stand up for the club tells me we going to be ok it’s now up to that group of players to be consistent and show that fight and determination against your stokes Newcastle and the like COYI
The other thing is teams like City are clinical. A couple of times in the first half Antonio got his feet in a tangle and then the Sakho miss at the end.
Masuaku played well imo. One of our best performers alongside Adrian, Ogbonna and Obiang. But that's not to say the others who I haven't mentioned didn't play well. All of our players had good games. If I had to say who did badly, perhaps Sakho but he had little to work with so he doesn't deserve a slating or anything like that.
Im so sorry everybody. I caused that defeat. I had been to a family lunch, and promised myself I would not look at the score until FT. Got home early, looked at the score with 7 minutes to go, 1-1. Switched the computer off, left it 15 minutes, came back, FT 2-1.
Just call me Jonah and hang an Albatross around my neck.
Adrian was phenomenal, if Hart starts the next game then I'm guessing the loan deal is that he starts every game unless he's injured or otherwise unavailable in which case our situation is down to the board's stupidity
Much much better, a response that makes us feel all is not lost even though we should not underestimate the possibility of being cut off by Christmas, our task is to try and retain contact with the relegation free places by January, a time by which if we are I feel with performances like today we will begin to climb.
As has already been said Adrian must retain the start, Moyes is said to be a no nonsense manager so lets see him make a no nonsense decision as he cannot possibly have seen anything in Hart these last few weeks to suggest he should walk straight back in. Hart holds himself like a top keeper, but doesn't seem to perform as one unfortunately.
No comedy defending today, the goals were decent goals worked by decent players, we didn't gift as we have been and that's a big improvement. We looked better organised ( why we so poor against far worse players only a few days ago at Everton I have no idea).
Need more attacking force so need Chico back and Carrol, although I like the look of Sakho at the moment.
As for a side note to end does Antonio ever enter into any business on the pitch without it ending with him limping or holding a part of his body?
Fair play also to Ogbonna , apart from his goal he also had a good game against the best team in the league, same can be said IMO about Rice, lots of talent there to be seen...and can be trusted.. Finally not sure if it's already been said, but Adrain MUST start... ;run
Mrs G I thought he could have done better with both of the goals and Moyes also thought that he should have gone better with the second. He did though pay tribute to Rice saying he's only 18 and he's playing against the top players.
What I like about Rice is he doesn't hide, so young and had we less injuries and a better squad he should only be receiving gentle introductions to the premiership at this age, is being asked to hold his own at City against some of the best in the world and not hiding, I like him.
Of all our young players I've seen in the last couple of years, he's the one who, to me, looks like he is already at the necessary level to be a PL player.

When I've seen him at u23 level he just seems a league apart from the others not just in term of quality but also in terms of leadership. He's always barking orders to players and relaxes the players on the ball. This means that when he plays for our senior team he doesn't seem like the "young lad that needs an arm round the shoulder type".
In an ideal world I would play him in midfield though as his mistakes are less likely to cost us a goal. Having said that, based on injures and the good of the team we had to play him at CB - and I'm sure thisll be the case in future games too.
Jeez. What have we got to do to make some posters happy? Our best performance of the season by a mile but to some it's not good enough as we lost to possibly the best team in Europe at this time. I don't mind people criticising the team when we play poorly but we we play well to continue leaves a sour taste.
So much better today than for weeks and weeks. Maybe Moyes can get them better organised and motivated - just not sure if we have enough talent to stay up. Totally agree with Lukerz about playing 5 at the back. Bot Zabaleta and Masuaku are so much better in a 5 than a 4. Fernandes had a good game both wide and central after Kouyate went off. And that was Obiang's best game for ages. I hope Carrol stays injured as Sakho is so much better and if he plays with Hernandez in a 5 3 2 they could be great together, with Lanzini in behind them.
Wow, feel really proud of the team, all I wanted was to ensure that Man City knew they had been in a game and that they had to work for it.
And that was certainly the case this afternoon.
Now let’s take the confidence that sort of performance should instill and make sure it is in evidence for the rest of the season, if it is, we will be just fine.
Was sat in the home end with my City friend for this game. Didn't expect to be going to the game, unfortunately his Dad pulled out from being able to go to the game and so i got a free invite and a chance to see my new God son, if that's the right word?
Anyways quality effort from the lads, and i use to want Arsenal to win the title to show up the mega bucks teams. But the City experience is something else, not at all bothered by the amount of money they have, they treat all fans, home and away wonderfully. Whoever is running the show at the London Stadium needs to attend a few home games at the Etihad. Brilliant all around. Thought we were in for a thumping but showed some guts even if we were on the ropes for 95% of the second half. I really hope City sweep up the title and wish them all the best for the Champs League.

Or, this is the benchmark for the rest of the season.
Play with heart and hardwork like that for the rest of the season and I think we will be ok.
Well, yeah.
That's why all their players are worth gazillions.
It's not really a surprising observation, is it?
Just call me Jonah and hang an Albatross around my neck.

Find me any defender in the PL who goes a season without making a mistake.
How long before the penny drops?
I don't doubt he has a lot of potential, but I think he needs to develop a bit more before he's really good enough to be a solid PL starter.
