From looking now and again at the main FF 'highest points' people (on a single day, not the oevrall current leaders), I have noticed that there are a lot of people who only want to reach number 1, however fleetingly. Just so they can be top, even for a single day (never mind a GW).
So for example, there are many who register a new account that GW, just for that GW.
Then they (say) pick all their players from the teams playing on the Saturday, and play their bench boost or triple captain. That way they maximise their chances of being top at the end of Saturday.
Kolasinac got injured last week and errm there were 31 other reasons why I had to get to a settled team ( 2 were on Kane and Aguero when they got injured then came back so thats 27 unexplained ones) ;whistle
After 45 (successful or attempted) transactions in the draft game I now at last have a formidable forward line ;biggrin Benteke wont score for 10 games and Ibra will not play much for 10 games (I planned to bring him in weeks before he was fit to make sure I got him and all of a sudden hes in squad!) and Jesus will be dropped every other game... However, after transferring Vardy out for Gabbiadini in the first gameweek and then seeing him score 2 against Arsenal ;doh (I probably should've been sacked just for that) its taken this long to get some quality in!
I put him as first transaction at the start of the week thinking I had time. Then all this in the squad business made me wonder if youd get first pick over me and steal him from my cunning plan grasp ;wink
Considering I have no Kane, Lukaku, Aguero. Morata, deBruyne, Sane. Sterling, Sanchez, Hazard, Coutinho, Alli, Eriksen, Pogba. Lacazette i'm pretty happy with my squad. Having Ibra and Benteke added to Mane (when hes fit or not being sent off), Salah (gambled he'd do well so I stuck him high up on my original list) and Jesus alongside the best goalkeeper is a coup. I think for the first time this season I am actually happy with 15 decent squad players ( so let the injuries. poor form and dismissals commence) and looking up the league rather than down
Out of your squad I'd steal Kane and Richarlison ;biggrin I think i'll put Ibra on bench and see how many he scores when coming on with 20 minutes to go ;wahoo

;lol I completely forgot about it until yesterday afternoon ;doh
I wanted to bring Pogba in this week but held off TFs because of potential injuries. Once I knew Jones was out (and Abraham followed) I knew I had to prioritize elsewhere. I'd also planned to bring back Morata after the Liverpool game and whilst Hazard would be nice, hes someone (at 10.6) that would mean I'd have to sacrifice over all quality in the squad to accommodate. It must've been tricky to leave out a Man City midfielder Mrs Grey?
Just realized I have you in the H2H next GW ;hmm (which provoked memories of last season when I got about 160 points in the GW and still lost ;lol ;weep ;wahoo ) You've only just used the wildcard so I know you won't go on a TF frenzy ;biggrin Will I though!?!?
Yes. I sold Silva. Pep rotates so much the only certainties were him (Silva) and De Bruyne... and just looking at costs and points per game... I decided to take a chance on Delph (v. cheap, getting regular games for now) to free up money for 3 good MF options. (Salah, Pogba + Hazard) while still allowing for 2 premium strikers (Morata + Kane).
;hmm
Time will tell.
tbh, I also had an eye on price and scope for price rises (an aspect I've not really paid attention to in the past. Trying to get better in new ways ;ok )
I was staggered Pogbas price didnt go up after 300K TFs in. The extra problem for me was that I was loathed to swap Pogba for Sterling with Man City playing Huddersfield (despite thinking after he played in Europe that Sterling might be rotated). A case of being scared Sterling would score good points if I binned him (which usually happens when I make 2 or 3 TFs in a week)
Mrs Grey... The Man City omission and your reasoning are perfectly sound. The price rising of the squad is crucial to squeezing that extra quality player or two into your team (its usually one of the few positives for making lots of TFs if you get the right rising players in at the right time of course)
I've been toying with only one premium price striker (as opposed to two or three) and boosting my defence whilst making the midfield 5 very strong (as opposed to a makeweight 5th Midfielder). I guess trying to cover for rotation and injuries. Not sure if I have achieved much though and the desire to TF every week never seems to subside ;puzzled
I usually have a spare cheap MF and one cheap/non-playing defender (who I never need 'cos I only ever play 3 so 4 gives me enough room for rotation). But I was reading up on scout tips, and was impressed by the idea of trying to get 5 defenders who all play to cover rotation during Xmas. Also Delph (although a MF who plays as defender, so doesn't benefit from big CS bonuses) is so cheap and is (for now) playing regularly is a useful 5th MF player.
I know what you mean about striker choices ... going with 1 big and 2 mdm => more money for MF + Defence (where goals get you more points and CS are valuable)
Delph is an excellent price. I'd say Loftus Cheek is also in that category and he's a lot further forward. Also seems to have cemented a place with a couple of assists too
It wouldnt surprise me if he plays Ibra behind Lukaku a lot of the time. If Ibra starts scoring he'll get jumped on at 10M

I so need hardly anyone to get injured for months ;lol
;lol

Weird.
I'll be fine if I only use 1 a month hehehe
I think I’m goin* to be sacked this season...
only to find you got there first. ;fishslap
My draft squad is a shambles. I can hardly summon up the bovvered to tinker ;weep
