Welcome Scott Parker. First of all, are you OK?

I have no opinion on Scott Parker's being sentenced to be West Ham manager, but I think he deserved his own thread, instead of inheriting the NES -Stick or Twist thread and having to deal with all of Nuno's leftover business and, ...actually, now that I think about it...

Not sold, I just think he is more of the same.

He is inheriting the same problems at the club as the previous manager did. He isn't going to get a different tune from the squad until we do the actual reset. Its unbelievable that we get relegated and we didn't have the full reset that was needed. At least 8 or so of the current squad should have been out the door of the club.

Exactly like I said with Nuno though, good luck to him. If the board have laid out the plans to clear-out the squad in January and get the deadwood and high earners out the club then I will believe assurances have been made from the board to giving that blank slate needed for a manager to succeed.

If this does not materialise then sorry but if Parker never got those assurances from the board when he agreed to take on the role, I will again have zero sympathy for whatever happens there after for his tenure if it goes downhill.

Looking forward to the Athletic article immediately after he’s sacked with inside info on how the players were all dizzy from having to practice the Parker pirouette and how Pablo ended up with concussion after he fell over his own feet.

Please can we refrain from calling other people's opinions delusional or rubbish, or anythin akin to these terms. Mods will just delete those aspects of posts from here on out.

I am not expecting miracles, but would hope to soon be seeing us press in a more coordinated manner, stop leaving big holes in midfield and making it more difficult for teams to pass through us.

If [Parker has signed] up for business as usual with the current squad, like I said before with Nuno, good luck to him but without fixing the mistakes of the past, he is set up for failure and it should be in the interest of the new manager to gather assurances to set himself up to succeed. I have my doubts either the board or he can do it.

You never know things move fast in Football, Burnley haven't been doing well and perhaps Parker had a bad team talk this afternoon and we have lost patience with him.

Good luck Scotty. It will be interesting to see which players step up. Magassa and Mayers get their chance, which is a good sign.
