The Positive Vibe Thread

  • Chicago, off topic, but what's been the reaction to the clown's remarks about Nato troops in Afghanistan?
  • The general reception of his recent outburst over Greenland and his speeches both here and in Davos have generally been negative but I do not believe that enough has been made of those particular remarks, neither in the media nor in official circles…in my opinion he should have been made to publicly apologize.
  • But don't Americans think London is lost? 😉
  • I was going to post my thoughts about the orange monster’s behaviour this week, then I realised it’s the positive vibes thread.
  • Definitely more of a “couldn’t think” conversation
  • But we can appreciate the fantastic memes recently proliferating of Trump's medals, awards, trophies and honours.

A bright spark in an unbelievable world.
  • Our Fernandes could turn out to be very special. Dissecting his goal: he starts the move with a 50+ yard pass that sets Summerville free; races forward 50+ yards in jig time; has the composure to look up, pick his target; and finally unleashes an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Onion bag bulges etc. All those actions show vision as well as talent, a rare combination indeed.

I’m happier than I was 3 weeks ago

    That’s not easy

    Now he is saying this:-

Trump says UK soldiers in Afghanistan 'among greatest of all warriors'

I guess that's the closest we'll get to an apology.
  • Let's see Trump and the members of his administration backtrack on their claims that Pretti was brandishing a gun at the time he was shot, when the BBC verify piece shows he never had a gun in his hand, and that the gun had been taken from what looked like the back of his trousers by an ICE officer before he was killed by another one of them.
  • We are living in strange times indeed, the initial comments made by top officials regarding this particular shooting are nothing short of outrageous
  • Getting back on track with the positive vibes, whilst I would gladly exchange where we are with mid table obscurity, assuming we can continue to apply pressure, it is going to be fun seeing the teams above us start to get twitchy as they look over their shoulders.

We can do this…..cue “The Great Escape” movie theme tune
  • There’s nothing like a good old relegation battle to get the juices flowing
  • Phew….glad to be here……
  • I learned a good fact / quiz question earlier.

In the 21st century, three men have made their England debut before they played in the top flight (in any country). Reckon you can name them?
  • Owen Hargreaves?
  • Oh, I just reread the bit about top flight in any country. So not Jude Bellingham
  • No correct answers yet
  • Sam Johnstone, Wilfred Zaha?
  • Zaha is one of them, Johnstone is not
  • Jack Butland
  • Butland is another one
  • Gained three goals on Leeds at least!
  • That’s a handsome handful of straws you have just clutched there
  • In more good news, I can do single leg 'sit to stand'. Which is good if you are 61. So that would be great.

Although in the real world, I'm 35 and will always be.
  • And I transferred in Summerville to my FF team. So, yay me.
  • I am trying to be positive, I know not really me! Where do we see the points coming from to enable us to stay up & how many do we need?
  • 20 from 14 games is what I’m looking at
  • @Lukerz, Which games do you think we have to win?
