  • Also 3 pm In the great Canadian North =)
  • Wilson , Marshall or Bowen up front that's the real question
  • Would take a scruffy 1-0 win even if it took an own goal

    Brentford. Oh dear

We've played them nine times since they were promoted, won twice (once in the Cup), drawn once, not scored in four and only kept one clean (in the Cup)

Like Brighton and Bournemouth key players leave but they're replaced without any noticeable difference. Brentford have gone one better, they lost Frank and instead of bringing in a new manager they just promoted the set piece coach

Mark Flekken has been replaced by Caoimhín Kelleher, Bryan Mbuemo has been replaced by Dango Ouattara (Bournemouth, £42m) while Christian Norgaard has been replaced by 35yo Jordan Henderson who seems to be enjoying a revival of fortunes after being released by Ajax

Yoane Wissa has been replaced by Igor Thiago who was signed last summer as Ivan Toney’s replacement. He only managed 8 appearances last season due to injury but he's Brentford's current top scorer with 4 plus another in the Carabao

They took up the option to buy Italian U21 RB/RWB Michael Kayode who was on loan from Fiorentina

Vitaly Janelt suffered a heel injury back in April that needed surgery but has got some minutes over recent weeks and could be close to returning to the starting line up. In his absence 21yo Ukrainian Yegor Yarmolyuk has been partnering Henderson in midfield

Reiss Nelson joined on loan from Arsenal on deadline day, has been ill since September but is also fit again

Keith Andrews switches between 4-2-3-1 and 5-3-2 but he's fairly consistent with his selection

    4-2-3-1

    Kelleher
Kayode Collins van der Berg Lewis-Potter
    Henderson Yarmolyuk(Janelt?)
    Ouattara Damsgaard Schade
    Thiago

    5-3-2

    Kelleher
Kayode Ajer Collins van der Berg Lewis-Potter
    Henderson Yarmolyuk(Janelt?) Damsgaard
    Thiago Schade

    Areola
    Wan-Bissaka - Mavropanos - Kilman - Diouf
    Souček - Magassa
    Fernandes - Paquetá
    Bowen - Summerville

Hermansen, Igor, Walker-Peters, Scarles, Potts, Rodríguez, Guilherme, Marshall, Wilson
  • Will Soucek start?

He’s coming back from a 3-match ban during which there’s been a change of manager and he had an absolute mare of an international break. First he was criticised by the Czech media for his poor performance in the 0-0 draw against Croatia but then got even more after an embarrassing 2-1 loss to the Faroe Islands

His confidence must be on the floor and this is going to be a tough game
  • I'm not sure that will affect him. I take him as a 'get up and go again' type.
  • I love Big Tom but against Brentford we're going to need him at his best and he seems to be having problems at the moment
  • I’d like to see

    Areola
    KWP Mavro Kilman Diouf
    Potts Soucek Fernandes
    Bowen Paqueta Summerville

Paqueta and Soucek can alternate as the false 9 depending on who is playing better. From what I’ve seen so far, I marginally prefer Potts over Magassa but not much in it. If Potts tires, Magassa is a good replacement. I also don’t feel KWP warrants getting dropped as he’s not put much of a foot wrong (even though I love AWB). AWB could also be a nice sub. Then the likes of Marshall and Wilson are the obvious attacking subs.

    Areola

    Bowen Paqueta Summerville

Can't see it myself, I think Wilson probably starts

    Areola
    AWB Mavropanos Kilman Diouf
    Fernandes Magassa
    Bowen Paqueta Summerville
    Wilson
  • We should be playing a striker rather than a false 9.
  • Areola, Walker-Peters, Todibo, Kilman, Scarles, Souček, Irving, Fernandes, Summerville, Bowen ©, Paquetá
Subs: Hermansen (GK), Wan-Bissaka, Diouf, Mavropanos, Potts, Rodríguez, Magassa, Marshall, Wilson
  • None of that team makes any sense
  • Why keep playing Bowen as a striker as he himself says he much prefers playing out on the right.
  • LOSS
  • That is one weird line up
  • If Nuno wants to get the fans on side then that 11 won't do it.What on earth did he see in training
  • Diouf has been our best player ,So lets drop him
  • Diouf must be because of some fitness issue. Irving is baffling

I think the intention is to confuse Brentford.
Err.... I am confused for not seeing most of AWB, Diouf, Potts, Magassa Marshal/Wilson in the starting line-up. May be injuries or some tactical master stroke.

  • Absolutely baffled
  • It certainly was not the 11 I was expecting us to field. Looks like he has gone with the defence he has worked with over the break, plus Irving.
  • Its doing my head in trying to figure out what Nuno is thinking Irving really
  • On the bright side if we're losing and there's a mass exodus no one will know. The stadium looks pretty empty.
  • Looks like Paqueta as a false 9, Bowen on the right.

Looks pretty much the same as usual to me. Not exactly the mass boycott they were hoping for

Another really odd thing, Scarles seems to be at RB, and KWP at LB.
  • Clearly some kind of tactic, just don’t know what!

Confuse the opposition is all I can come up with.
  • Confusing everyone.
