  • Indeed ;biggrin
  • But as you say billy, it's our song ;ok
  • So we've actually got two songs? ;hmm
  • Not for much longer if the rumours are to be believed Mrs G. ;biggrin
  • My mates wife bumped into Payet in Sainsbury's yesterday when out with his little boy. She asked him if she could take a photo to show my mate and Payet not only happy posed he picked up his little boy so he could be in the photo aswell. Nice to see him doing his own shopping and happy to pose for a photo ;clap
  • Midfielder Dmitri Payet was so confident of winning West Ham's end-of-season awards that he took an empty suitcase to training. (Mirror)
  • Dimi can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.
    #payetisfootballsanswertochucknorris
  • Dimitri Payet is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object
  • Please don't cash in Dave ;pray
  • Please don't even speak of Dimi leaving, If the Dave's are West Ham fans they could not even contemplate it for any money.

If they sell every bit of belief will fall out of every supporter and the rest of the team.

We have never had a player with that amount of ability with a football, we have had fantastic players, influential players, players that made us better on their own, but no one comes close to what he can do with a football and that anticipation he provides you as a fan.

I am aware he could try and force a move but I am hoping he is not the type and would at least say I will give you next season, and if my ambitions do not look like being realised here then let me go.

Also having him and his exposure at this tournament will help our recruitment enormously !
  • If Deeney is worth £20mil then Payet is worth at the very least £60mil he's truely among the elite players in the world

It's not just the goal, it's the whole performance. This french team are joint favourites with Germany to win this and everyone is gushing over how strong their team is

World record bids for Griezmann and Pogba are always being mentioned and both are seen as top 10 players in the world, add the hugely impressive Kante, Matuidi and the wonder kids Martial and Coman......but it was our man Payet who made them tick, he controlled that game and was the best player on the pitch be for the goal

He's just beyond quality, so proud to have hin at our team we'd be fools to cash in he's simply irreplaceable and he's the star we can build around and use his name to convince elite strikers to join us as any striker who plays with payet will be a happy striker
  • If Payet shines at this tournament, he will be off. This is not negative or a slant on him. But he will attract big bids from massive clubs. I don't think a player has ever excelled at a major international tournament and not got a big money move that summer.

I think we could easily get £50m for him.

Payet is going to leave ;weep

If he does leave it is a real shame the owners refused to invest last Jan and really push us to the top four in what could be our last chance. That is where the DDs come up short. Would helped a bundle trying to keep hold of him if we had Champions League football. Instead we got Emenike. If you have star players you have to match their ambition.
  • I would hope he would honor his newly signed contract and not push for a move. However if someone comes in with a crazy bid of say £50-60m then I can see the DD's cashing in.

I really hope he stays as he is the best player (skills wise) that I can remember playing for us, but, right now he is one of the best players in Europe, never mind the PL IMO.
  • I don't think he will go anywhere just yet.

The Daves had been reported they valued him at 50-60m we'll last nights performance on the opening game stage with that goal possibly added a few more million

60+ for a 29 year old who all of a sudden found his feet big time in the last 12 months? That would suggest the game has gone to a new level of crazy. MUFC paid 24m for a 29 year old RVP and that was considered top whack for a geezer that had been doing it consistently for a period of time. The only thing with Payet is he won't get much slower over the next 3-4 years because his game isn't built on pace, that is a possible factor but there would be next to nothing in terms of sell on for any of the big boys and they don't normally operate that way.

I also think the lad genuinely likes it at our club, he's gone from a decent player to known all round the world very quickly and that emotion came through when subbed last night.

For me he will be with us at the start of next season and will want to see how far we can go first and if he can be part of something major in the PL, it depends if we continue to progress as to whether he stays.

    Jeez

You and those Jan windows eh?

Payet had only just come back from injury nobody knew we'd still go on a tear up or how it would pan out, also we'd just spent the most ever in a window in the summer 35-40m not bad for a club that technically is still 100m in debt. We've got bills to pay and things to sort out, plus we were Max'd out with FFP and we didn't exactly get the tub of the green plus we made a number of mistakes ourselves.

We may of finished 7th but top 4 was very possible until right at the end. Also Slav made a couple of mistakes (not knocking him, he's been brilliant and stil learning)

Izzy, I'm not disagreeing with your earlier comment, but any comparison between RVP and Payet has to take account of how much more money is sloshing around now - which inflates prices.

  • I don't think we're quite there yet with 60m+ for a 29 year old whose done it for 1 season.

Plenty of games he drifted out of then he pulled out a single magic
    Moment, some clubs want more.

The Daves will know they have him tied down they call the shots they just have to keep Dimi happy which they are doing with little things like the shirt at the OS, he will become one of the major poster boys of the PL now and the spin offs from that are massive, they don't have to sell him and in 6 months time we won't need the money either.

He's already on up to 125k a week for a guaranteed 5+ years very few players earn much much more than that and most were a few years younger when they did

I'm confident he'll be kicking off at the OS in claret and blue

    ;ok
  • I really hope he stays. The problem is that if big offers come in for him, it can unsettle things one way or another. I guess I am not used to so much speculation and adoration for one of our West Ham players. I'd better get used to it I suppose.
  • Payet has not just done it for one season Slaven.
That's why we bought him . Look at his stats the season before we bought him.
Some clubs want more?? What more can you want from a player ? Did you not watch the game last night ?

Payet is currently one of the top three players in the world without doubt.

No Hutton he really has only done it at the highest level for one season. If he had of done it for longer or showed something different he wouldn't of ended up at WHU for 10m there was something the other scouts and clubs didn't like or couldn't see for whatever reason

Yes of course I watched it (are you sure?) however perhaps you have misunderstood my comment or I wasn't clear?

When I say they want more they want some kind of resale and they want top performances every week for 60m, last season he had a number of poor games then he would pull out a special moment.

  • Stop it... just stop it.

Why can't we just revel in the joy of him.
  • Clearly not...

  • Yes Suz ...He is ours today. He will be ours next week. Enjoy the moment. Sometimes we simply don't know when to enjoy the ride. I am enjoying the ride. I am so proud of the owners, all the players (not just Dimitri) and I am so proud just walking the streets Of Trondheim in my West Ham colours and getting great comments. I was so proud to hear the Norwegian commentator last night speaking about this unique, special talent and the Norwegian Pundits drooling over this man of the match genius. I just wish he hadn't been quite so good last night ... ;weep
  • We've got Payet

I think some people don't understand...
  • Stop it... just stop it.

Why can't we just revel in the joy of him.

Overseas it's known as the 'English Condition' - When anything good comes along or happens, we just have to keep knocking it until it falls over, thereby fulfilling the doom and gloom predictions.
  • Reasons to sell Payet: none

    Need to sell Payet: none

Reasons to give in if (unlikely, imo) Payet tried to force a move: none

Chances of us losing Payet: none
  • Dimi love ;carew
  • I'm just loving being soooo proud of a player who plays for us and now admired world wide, and thanks to Slav for making him his top target.
And also how refreshing having a manager that is proving himself cool as a cucumber ;scarf
