    So Arsenal took the points against Man U which is obviously important but they looked far from convincing as United appear to have stepped up from last year.

    Man City looked the real deal and on this evidence will probably provide Liverpool the greatest challenge or even prove to be the team to beat.

    For me, Chelsea failed to impress despite the hype but Notts Forest once again looked good and I regret my decision not to persevere with Wood in my FF team.

    Didn’t watch Spurs, as I just couldn’t bring myself to do so, I am fearful that Kudus will do well there which will really grate.

    As for us, we are likely to have a difficult start to the season and we will need to fight our way away from the lower reaches but I do think we have the squad to do that.

    I did think City would return this season very strongly. I felt Pep was hurt last season and would be more determined than ever now. I think it will have served to create fire in him again. He wants to leave City on a high not a low.

    I watched Chelsea yesterday and added up that just four of their players had a combined transfer fee of over £300 m.

    And they did not look that great, they must know they have a match winner in Palmer yet hardly gave him a touch.

    Now call me crazy but after that shocking second half I can see us getting something on Friday against this much fancied and hyped Chelsea side — now that is the West Ham way..

    I am hoping Chelsea are jaded due to their excessive Summer fixtures, I have a feeling they will have somehow recovered by the time they play us unfortunately.

    Not impressed with Everton whatsoever against Leeds, DM may have galvanized them last year and got them out of trouble but during recent performances, they have looked dreadful……

    Not that I always watch other PL teams play, but I probably would have done this weekend; after Saturday I have absolutely no enthusiasm for football atm 😞.
