F1 2026 Season

edited March 7 in General Chatter
Thought I'd start a thread in case there are any others out there that follow F1.

Huge regulation changes this season as it kicks off in Australia this weekend, so difficult to know exactly what to expect, other than the fact that Aston Martin are miles off the pace in a car unlikely to go the full race distance.

Great start to the new season as Verstappen crashes on his first quick lap in the first part of qualifying so he'll be starting towards the back of the grid for the race tomorrow 😊😊😊.

  • It's Mercedes to beat for the first 4 or 5 races imo.

That may be the case, but I think this season more than any other will find different cars are suited by different circuits due to the exaggerated use of the electrical energy. Tbh I've found recent seasons, which have been increasingly influenced by the need to manage tyres (and even the requirement to have to use more than one compound), less interesting, and I am slightly worried that this season's regulations are going to mean that managing the various systems completely dominates and the racing will be far less pure than in seasons gone by.
  • To be fair I think that is the commonly held belief in that they may have taken it a bit too far……

I would like to see a naturally aspirated V8 in a carbon fiber body and let them have at it….but what do I know.

Short of that, put them all in a bunch of Ford Fiesta STs and we will find out the best driver
