Burton Albion vs West Ham - 14th February

Treat your beloved to a pint, because West Ham are away at the Brewers on Valentines Day.

  • I'd assume changes will be rung, but I have no idea what will happen here.

Presumably Areola is the cup keeper now? Is this an opportunity for Kilman to play himself into something resembling form? Who knows! I don't want to see Bowen, and I don't want to see Summerville. We won't see Tobido, as I've just double checked and suspensions carry between all domestic competitions.

If it were me, I'd probably go with something like:

    Areola
    KWP - Mavropanos - Kilman - Scarles
    Traore - Magassa - Potts - Lamadrid
    Fernandes
    Taty
  • I would stick with Disasi and Mavro at the back - it is another opportunity for them to build an understanding

Keep an eye on Jake Beasley, 29yo journeyman second striker/attacking midfielder

Currently joint 5th for goals in League One with 12 (two players top on 15) despite Burton being 21st out of 24

Played in the Championship for Blackpool 21/22 and 22/23 but otherwise lower league with various clubs
  • I would also give Disasi a start as all game time with his new team is a good thing for a player who has hardly played this season. I would let Kilman start alongside him.

  • Yeah, Kilman might learn how to defend.
  • I am more than happy to play the reserves & kids in this (I never say that) - we go out, oh well. I see Pablo is out for a while.

    Areola
    Walker-Peters - Mavropanos - Kilman - Scarles
    Magassa - Potts
    Traore - Kanté - Lamadrid
    Wilson
  • I'd say play a fairly strong team. Let a few like Magassa, Scarles and Mayers who have been around the team play but I wouldn't want to risk disrupting the hunger for wins that I feel followed the QPR game. There's a full week until the next game so no real need to rest too many.
  • How long is Pablo out
  • Not known. Nuno says a while but doesn’t know how long.
  • It doesn't sound good for Pablo.
