15 Year Anniversary

I've just realised that the site was launched in Jan 2011. So we are officially 15 years old.

I don't know if that fills you who are still here with joy or horror πŸ˜‚.

But I just wanted to mark the occasion. And say that although there have been ups and downs, I am very glad that we have made a small corner of the Internet that reflects the best(ish - we try!) of what the Internet can be. And everyone has played their part in that.

If any site members have detached, but lurk now and then, this means you too. And I hope you are all doing ok. Even if you don't want to actively participate any more, that's ok.
And bless those who were here but are no longer.
COYI.

  • Congratulations to us all!
  • Happy birthday to us. =)
  • Been here since February 2011 its made my life so much better .Being over here in Canada 5 hours behind UK .This site is the first thing I do when I wake up ..So thank you all
  • A big thanks to MrsG, and the mods for all the work they do for the site, and to everyone that contributes.
  • Thank you Mrs G and all those who support this site.

    15 years!

James Tomkins, Joey O'Brien, Ricardo Vaz Te and all that......
  • It has been a long time.
  • Like Steve said, despite moving to Chicago, I would always have watched and supported the team but I can truthfully say that this site has greatly enhanced my experience in so doing.

Along the way, I can recall a great number of laugh out loud moments and I mean real ones, not just this LOL nonsense.

Many, many thanks to everyone who has played a part but especially those who created and have maintained the site…..I salute you
  • The only site I use to chat all WHUFC related stuff....A big shout out to Mrs G & her late husband, and also to the mods for keeping this 'family friendly' and non abusive......Kudos to all, COYI.......From a boiling hot Cape Town.....
  • Well done everyone - especially you Mrs G βš’
  • 🎼 happy birthday to us 🎼
  • Mrs G out of interest can you remember how long we were on the old BBC 606. I take it that 2011 is when we went out on our own so to speak.
  • According to a BBC article in May 2011, 606 closed down after 8 years. I personally never contributed at all until we moved over here, but I guess in theory some of your accounts are too old to play for England U21s

    πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ cheeky
  • Great site for everyone to engage with like-minded (deluded?) West Ham fans. Thanks to Mrs G, and to all the mods. This site is welcoming, informative, the contributions are great, and often very funny! Happy birthday everyone. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚βš’βš’
  • Many thanks to all who administer the forum and to all those who contribute. It's a good place to cheer, moan and laugh.

A West Ham forum is a little like a support group in that we are all suffering the same thing, we were somehow bonded to a club that makes you despair more than cheer but there is nothing you can do about the bond. You can change your Job, your house, your car and even your husband or wife but there is something about football clubs. It's nice to have a group for fellow sufferers.
  • It's very nice of everyone to praise the mods, but I have to say that I think the mod thread has basically been redundant in the past year or so. Even during a downturn in mood around the club, everyone on this site is really good at sticking to what we all agree as the house rules, and it makes our lives dead easy. So thanks to everyone who contributes.
