Reports that Palace are paying 48m for Strand-Larson from Wolves. This is really strange as he has done nothing this season at Wolves. If they wanted to see the season out without a relegation battle and give themselves the best chance in the Conference Cup they should have just refused City's money for Guhei. Match to Match I think Guhei would have improved them much more than Strand-Larson.
Pretty sure Big John Egan had a behind closed doors trial game here before 🤔
He played for 30 minutes in a friendly against Dagenham and Redbridge in Sept 2024 when Lopetegui was manager. He would have been a free transfer, but WHU rejected him. I think he signed a short-term deal with Burnley but was released in Feb 2025, and then joined Hull. Hull are third though have let in 40 goals. We are now desperate. In desperation will WHU repeat the Roger Johnson type of signing, or pull something? There is always Ezra Mayers waiting in the wings or might Nuno ask Igor Julio to return?
So who thinks it'll be just one CB, or do we expect more to come in..... It seems that Spurs want to keep hold of their 2nd keeper, not too bothered on that one...
I don't recall remembering seeing Disasi play, but it is a bit concerning that he's hardly played for ages and deemed not good enough to play by 1 or 2 managers....
I'm not saying he can't/won't do a decent job and I guess the saying 'beggars can't be choosers' fits, but I 'd had thought there was a CB somewhere in the world who was match fit and happy to play in the PL, even if it's till the end of the season, but if it is Disasi, I'm not going to moan , it's just it seems we always nowadays end up with players unwanted at their own club, if we're talking about CB's....( not other areas )....
He didn't want to in the last transfer window! Is he the type of committed character you want along side you in the trenches? £20 million and you probably sign Harwood Bellis or Cresswell but we it appears have to do a loan deal for one of another teams cast offs.

Apparently you’ll need closer to £30m for Cresswell. They turned down a £20m bid from Palace earlier in the window.
Harwood-Bellis though would be ours fo £20m. Not 100% sure he’s worth it, but I also don’t feel great about the Disasi deal.
I do think we need to be sensible with money. We're very likely to be relegated so I don't really want to see us panic into paying over the odds and not being able to get it back

Axel Disasi has had a medical scheduled at West Ham for this morning
Sky Sports News' understands the deal is getting closer and closer to getting through.
West Ham have made a centre-back a top priority after Igor Julio's loan from Brighton was terminated.

Perhaps not......??
Are the wheels coming off? Have Spuds put a spanner in the works? Can I think of any more naff puns?
