    The Trump administration has just announced a change in the days where National Parks such as Yellowstone and Glacier are free to enter, they traditionally follow public holidays such as Memorial and Presidents’ Day etc.

    However, for 2026, entry to National Parks will now no longer be free on Martin Luther King day nor Juneteenth but will be free on Trumps birthday.

    I kid you not.

    As reprehensible, hypocritical and disrespectful as this administration has proven itself to be on so many fronts, I cannot help but find myself musing that there is a brazenness to their actions that is almost admirable.

    We had my wife’s best friend Cheryl (born California, currently Delaware) staying the last two weeks so I’ve had the benefit of two American women, both Democrat voters, expressing their low opinions of the state of their country

    Looking forward to the mid-terms next year when the Democrats look nailed on to take the House and possibly the Senate too but fearing what Trump might try in 2028

    You can bet there will be no peaceful transfer of power from the guy who has pardoned the people who attempted a coup on Capitol hill when he previously lost.

    I see Musk wants to abolish the EU, whatever that means. The EU is a big threat to the US and the idiotic Brexit we voted through was a blow to it but I hope they will stand strong and not allow far right parties to break it up.

    We used to think back in the day that nuclear war would bring down the human race, it seems social media will do it however.

    If I was given an all expenses paid trip to watch as many games as I wanted I’d turn it down. Mind you they wouldn’t let me in if they look at my sm comments on trump.I’d probably end up in Guantanamo.

    The great free speech advocate wants access to everyone's social media now. It really is his own social media someone needs to check, his writings are that of an idiot that were it someone you knew you would be embarrassed for them, yet this guy is POTUS. Musks gift to the American people is not looking so well.

    I do believe we are living in strange times, the trick is to endeavor not to add to the madness by your own actions…..

    That being said, on Sunday, our boys are coming over for a proper family full English breakfast to watch Sunderland vs Newcastle followed up with WHU vs Villa.

    I know where I sit in the pecking order in my house which is why unfortunately our game will the one recorded but I will be wearing my shirt throughout. 😀

    I felt I had to acquiesce and allow their derby match to take precedence - as if I had any choice in the matter.

    For those of you based over here I heartily recommend Parker’s GBI for your pies and sausages- expensive for sure but outstanding - at least I have a decent breakfast to look forward to

    Bubbles, generally speaking it is, streaky, greasy and normally nuked, that is why I order mine from Parker’s, alternatively we also have an Irish store fairly locally which imports proper back bacon.

    The Irish store is worth a pre Easter and Christmas run to stock up
