Not a good start, 2-2, Smith and Duckett both gone.
  • A ton for Joe Root, 203-5.

Superb knock from Joe Root, in which he overtook Morgan as England's leading scorer in ODIs and passed 7,000 ODI runs. He finishes on 166 not out off just 139 balls as he leads England to victory with 7 balls to spare (312-7).
  • Rain pushes back the start of the third and final ODI against the West Indies by 30 minutes. England have won the toss and elected to field in a match that could well have further rain interruptions given the forecast for the Oval.
  • Good start for England, West Indies are 28-3.

Both teams also delayed by traffic. West Indies ended up getting off the coach and walking, and England, well - see below. Cricket, huh:
  • England rather let the West Indies off the hook, having had them at 154-7 in the 28th over we let them reach 251-9 off their 40 overs in this rain shortened match. England have been set a DLS target of 246.
  • A comfortable win in the end as England make 246-3 to win by 7 wickets with over 10 overs to spare.
  • Great role models those boys not wearing crash hats.
  • A crazy game going on this evening in the T20 series with the West Indies, England have made 135-1 off the first 10 overs of their innings batting first.
  • A mere 113 off the second 10 overs, so England score 248-3.
  • England restrict the West Indies to 211-8 and win by 37 runs, and win the series 3-0.
  • Congratulation to South Africa on winning the World Test Championship. Sidelining for a moment the perfectly reasonable debate over qualification and a one off final, that was an excellent test match - a real test, a worthy final. Both sides bowled relentlessly well and for South Africa to make that fourth innings total - let's just say, the absolute polar opposite of choking! Great test innings from Markram and Bavuma, well deserved.
