Lanzini, Cresswell, Tore, Sakho not available for Chelsea. Although Tore will resume training with the squad Today (Thursday 11th). Sakho sounds not injured, just unfit.

  • Thanks for the heads-up, Mrs G. Also interesting to note that Kouyate, Obiang and Randolph all picked up knocks in 2nd leg against Domzale, hence their non-involvement in Juve game. And, just when I was being reassured that Sakho was in fact injured, now they tell us (and this is OS...) he is unfit, which is what I guess most of us had guessed, on account of his stropitis.
  • My comment about Sakho is based on

Diafra Sakho is undertaking an individual training programme and is working hard to attain the right level of fitness to join the squad as soon as he can.

It doesn't explicitly rule out any previous injury. I am just inferring about the situation now ;ok

It might imply that he has a pre existing injury or weakness that he has to manage consistently in order to be fit to play. I think that is most likely as it would fit with his back history and the fact that he didn't pass the WBA medical.

I wonder if that is as frustrating for him as it is for us.
  • Ayew out for 4 months
  • jack posted the tweet he needs surgery 4 months out. 20 million just dropped in 33 minutes.
  • But our squad is ok ;doh

We've brought some West Ham traditions with us.....

    ;weep
  • This is a joke

The team at West ham need to take a long hard look at themselves

Ayew didn't look match fit and now he's injured it doesn't take a genius to figure he was rushed......much like Lanzini was in January where he was brought back and injured himself for another 6 weeks

The season has started and our new record signing is out for 4 months, our best LB is out for 3 months, our new right winger has piedmont up some mystery injury and they've only just realised that RB is a HUGE problem

    Panic stations everyone
  • One silver lining is that Slav will have no choice but to play Mikhail on the wing
  • Slav's press conference about the Astra game (a couple of hours ago) he says he hopes Lanzini will be back a week. (I don't know whether that means training, or ready to play in a match.)
  • Don't rush him

Miss 1 or 2 games for the sake of 10

If we aren't going to invest then we can't afford any more injuries
  • pretty sure Antonio will be in midfield now with Ayew out. Feghouli out and Lanzini out.

I'm sure I read that Lanzini would miss 3 EPL games so returning in a week to training, added to the upcoming international break, sounds about right.
  • Ayew out out for 4 months and then back in time for African cup. No ones fault but what a waste of money ;doh
  • He won't be fit for ACON
  • Then he won't be fit for us.
  • Apparently Havard and Payet are being assessed for injuries too
  • Dayum not long before we do not have a team, are we the Newcastle of this season.
  • Adrian
    Byram Reid Ogbonna Masuaka
    Noble Kouyate
    Antonio Payet Valencia
    Carroll

Still got a team for now, Lanzini and Tore will be fully fit as well soon, need to keep Obiang now

“The medical team will now assess the results [of Wednesday's scan] with a leading consultant before drawing any conclusions.

“My first thought and priority is with the player and his physical and mental wellbeing.... it is imperative that we do not rush to conclusions and we receive the correct diagnosis by consulting top specialists .... too early to put a timeframe on his return date
Am I reading between the lines to see a sub-text that says

'Oi, Diddy Dave, get a flippin' grip. Show some respect for the medical confidentiality of your players, stop telling your 14yr old kid stuff about other people's private stuff, and stop him tweeting every damn thing he pleases when he pleases. ;fishslap '

I'm quite cross about all this wee Davey Sullivan stuff tbh. It's fine he's involved and is Chairman of the Young Supporters Club.

But it is really ridiculous some of the stuff he tweets.

Imagine you are a professional football player. You have a significant, major injury.
And information about your (possible) treatment and rehab is put out on the internt by the kid of the person who owns the company you work for. Before any kind of professionals (medical and PR) have a chance to decide what is appropriate to put in the public domain, and when.

    It is outrageous.

I'd like the PFA to step in and rebuke the club, tbh.

    Show some respect and consideration!
  • How long was the Thomas Hitzelburg (the hammer) out for? He detached his quad muscle. Might be the same injury.

Didn't think Ayew was a greats signing for 20m but sorry for the guy. Sucks.
  • I have no problem him tweeting about a new signing after it is done and dusted but other than that, he shouldn't be allowed to tweet anything else concerning the football club.
  • The silence around Feghouli is worrying me too. What odds on him joining Cresswell and Ayew in Stijn's office for a while...
  • From press conf tonight:
we have some injuries from pre-season and they’ll miss the game on Thursday, but they’ll come back and hopefully we will have qualified.
    Feghouli?

Yep, because when we bought him, we knew he'd get injured first game.

    Hold up.....

No actually why not keep calm, because every other time this type of stuff has happened in the last 3-4 years, we haven't turned out too bad have we?

I'll be the first to admit, anyone who comes to us on the back of a hefty old fee seems to be jinxed, but how do you (or any of us) know if he was match fit or not?

Do you really think if he wasn't up to playing Slav would've risked a 20m player "just for a laugh?"

I would say it would take a genius to know what's really gone on, when none of us are involved.

And regarding our left back, that was a freak friendly injury as well!

    ;ok

I hope it isn't that is a bad one, we barely saw Hitz until the end of the season if I recall correctly.

Agree, it's bad news for Andre
  • the best bit is, Andy Carroll is standing there, looking round wondering what the heck is going on......

Was thinking the same thing, OCS ;puzzled

Wouldn't surprise me if he was injured long term too but the club are keeping quiet about it. Enough negativity around the club at the moment what with Antonio, standing up at a game, ayew etc..
