In any other form of employment following so many absences he would be shown the door. I'm quite happy for this to be the case here.

I assume it's something to do with a clause in a contract that stops this from happening? Does anyone here know?

I doubt it's a contract issue - more likely to be the law of the land, I'd have thought? You can't sack someone from their job for being ill/injured.

And quite right to, imo.

Trying to figure out if Byram is injured and "will be missing for the rest of the season", as Claret & Hugh reported (http://www.claretandhugh.info/moyes-hit-by-massive-injury-double-blow), or it is just a rumour. He is not even mentioned as injured on Physioroom (https://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php#c20). Does anybody know anything about it?
