It’s a Toffee! (West Ham vs Everton match thread) 10.01.20 KO 3pm.

Arrrh Ay La’ nobody seems Kean to step up and put the team living in the massive shadow of mighty Anfield thread up!

The club Moyes is most associated with comes to town with their shiny new Italian. An’ not a lotti people know that.

Hey, I haven’t done a match thread for ages and the puns aren’t flowing yet! You could always try Baningime…

For all the Italians out there, I Digne Mina to offend anyone.

How am I doing? So far S’gurd son

That Bernard’s got a bootiful left boot and Walcott will Theo retically score his one goal of the season against us.

But we have 17 cup Fornals to go to save ourselves. We need to be Good’son!

Verdict: For the pessimists, Lossl. For the optimists, ‘big Dunc’ for a 3 pointer

    Jonas Loss-l

(edit - just seen you already made that joke)
  • Randolph
    Zaba
    Balbuena
    Oggy
    Cresswell
    Masuaku
    Rice
    Noble
    Snodgrass
    Anderson
    Haller

Martin, Cardoso, Ngakia, Diop, Rosa, Fornals, Ajeti

I imagine this is what we’ll see in terms of a line-up. Will work in a 5-3-2 (Cresswell LCB and Masuaku LWB) or 4-4-1-1 (Cresswell LB and Masuaku LM with Anderson behind Haller).
  • Need Diops pace in this one
  • Need Fornals flair in this one
  • Need randy’s saves in this one
  • Yep, I'd have Diop and Fornals in for this one, but I think Moyes will go with the above. Snodgrass is there for his delivery alone; no-one else in the team knows how to cross the ball
  • Randolph
    Zaba
    Balbuena
    Oggy
    Cresswell
    Masuaku
    Rice
    Noble
    Snodgrass
    Anderson
    Haller

Martin, Cardoso, Ngakia, Diop, Rosa, Fornals, Ajeti

I know Lanzini is not in top form, but did u forget him :hmm:
  • I know he's not been great but I'd still have Lanzini on the bench

Yes, forgot about Lanzini. Can't blame me on recent performances, though.

He can have Rosa's place on the bench then.

But only if he's a good boy.
  • Cardoso, Ngakia, Rosa - I had to look these up.
None of them have played in the EPL as far as I can see.
Is that wise having so many inexperienced players on the bench or are we really down to the bare bones of the squad?
  • Bubbles, they were in the bench for the Sheff Utd game, mostly because of injury and illness.

But Cardoso could feature more regularly if Moyes persists with three at the back, particularly if Reid is still struggling, Ngakia is a right back so currently our back-up given Fredericks' and Jonhson's injuries, and Rosa is a midfielder who is next in line due to Wilshere's continued absence, Coventry and Powell being shipped out and Sanchez, presumably, being hopeless.

Not a great place for our squad to be, IMO, particularly in midfield, but I think this is it until the summer.
  • Antonio must due back for his 2 games before another injury soon.

    Randolph
    Zabaleta - Balbuena - Ogbonna - Cresswell
    Snodgrass - Rice - Noble - Fornals
    Anderson
    Haller

Martin, Diop, Masuaku, Sanchez, Lanzini, Antonio, Ajeti

    I imagine it will be:

    Randolph
    Balbuena - Ogbonna - Cresswell
    Zabaleta - Rice - Noble - Masuaku
    Anderson - Lanzini
    Haller
  • Would prefer your team Lukerz

But I also agree that Moyes is likely to go with the back 3/5...although I hope he starts Fornals over Lanzini
  • I agree with Luke - Snoddy and Fornals over lanzini and Masuaku
  • Fornals over Lanzini but I would like Masuaku in midfield.
  • Also Diop over Balbuena.

The WestHamWay Twitter account, which I believe Ex is close to, is reporting that Antonio won't be fit for Everton, and Anderson and Masuaku are both doubts.

They mentioned a Moyes press conference, so maybe there's confirmation elsewhere.

But if we're missing these three and Fredericks, we have zero pace in our team at all. Like, none whatsoever.
  • The amount of knocks are players get is unbelievable
  • It is on the OS with the press conference
  • So no Fredericks, Yarmolenko or Antonio, possibly no Masuaku or Anderson.

    Randolph
    Balbuena Diop Ogbonna
    Zabaleta Noble Rice Cresswell
    Snodgrass Lanzini
    Haller

Martin, Reid, Sanchez, Fornals, Ajeti and a couple U23s.
  • Rosa's back on the bench :wahoo:
  • So no Fredericks, Yarmolenko or Antonio, possibly no Masuaku or Anderson.

So that's all our players with a bit of pace out. Surely that can't be a coincidence? If I'm honest I've not researched what Yarmo's or Masuaku's injury are but if they're muscle-related, that's indicating our medical team are doing something wrong.
  • Arthur has fluid on the knee so probably took a knock.
  • Perhaps he's been tapped up :yercoat:
  • Don't faucet Bubbles :run:
  • Perhaps he had a Arthuroscopy
  • Why do we sink so low every time

    :yercoat:
